The Beast- preview

The hunters were anything but perfect.   Scarred, bloodied, and usually emaciated, most of the time they were chased out of villages with torches pitchforks, and the occasional shotgun.  The hunters angered the normal folk, even though they were the reason the normal folk were still alive.  Occasionally, a nice villager would do them a favor and toss them a loaf of bread, only to be burned alive the next day.  The life of a hunter was a terrible existence,  but it was a life someone had to live, for if they didn't the human race would become extinct, and they, the werewolves, would take over planet earth.
Smart beasts they were, the werewolves.  Often times, they would be able to sneak into villages in their human forms.  Disguised as nice gentlemen and lovely ladies, but by night, their terrible howl would shake the earth, causing all to tremble in fear, all but three.
The hunters, Scorpio, Jesse, and Finch, were the soul reason that the human race still existed.  They were feared by everyone, including their beastly enemies.  Usually equipped with hundreds of weapons, most wondered how they were still able to walk around.  One of them was usually badly beaten, while the other two would be recovering from a bad beating, resulting in yet another scar.  They looked like something to be feared, but they were quite the opposite.  Once they were hired and promised a high pay, they would usually do their job and  receive a stale loaf of bread.  "Deal with it." their employers would say, and slam the door in their faces.  The life of a hunter was a lonely existence indeed.
However, it was a lonely existence that three close friends lived together, and they were glad to at least have one another, but during the next few years, friendships would be tested, and the hunters would become the hunted.  This is the story of The Beast.
